Different perspectives

June 17, 2003

Check out the difference in perspective of the hot young driver (experienced and ready to go)and the former world champion (..needs more experience) and current team owner. Who would you believe?

Buyer beware?

June 17, 2003

With teams that have no sponsors, and existing sponsors paying next to nothing as primary backers, who in their right mind is going to buy the rights to go bankrupt? Selling of the series would be a major coup, reconstituting it as a sport and a viable business allmost an impossibility. My guess as a buyer? Tony George through a front company, just to fold it up and make it go away. You heard it here first folks!

Eddie & the Suit

June 17, 2003

Eddie Jordan must be crackers if the basis of his law suit is as reported herin. He probably was hoping for a quick out of court settlement and picking a few quid.

The trouble with Busch

June 17, 2003

And I’m not talking about the President! Even though I am a native New Englander I have never been a big fan of Randy LaJoie. But reading the article instills a whole new level of respect for the guy because he has hit the nail on the head!

Elegance or chicanery?

June 17, 2003

There are rumors abounding that one possible reason for El Supremo buying into Minardi is to have an ear at any GPWC discussions and strategy sessions concerning the break away league in 2008. When your a billionaire six million for information concerning your survivial is cheap!

Frank impressed by Jeff’s drive

June 17, 2003

Frank Williams was reportedly highly impressed with Jeff Gordon’s skills in last weeks “Tradn’ Paint” car swap with Williams’ Juan Pablo Montoya. However, Sir Frank also copped out by stating that they couldn’t afford Jeff even if he wanted to come over to F1. I have gotten the “you are so great at what you do but we could never afford you” line before. It reads to me like “I really don’t think you are great at what you do but I will say it and then get out of offering you a job by telling you we can’t afford you.” I mean come on! An F1 team not able to pay a NASCAR driver’s salary!? PLEASE!

Junior’s rage

June 17, 2003

It was a little surprising to see two known buddies like Dale Jr. and Matt Kenseth tangle in the waning laps at Michigan this weekend…but it was bound to happen. Even if you you are best friends, a tough fight for the championship will get tempers flaring. I am an admitted Dale Jr. fan, but I have to admit that Kenseth’s move on him was not earth shattering….

Gutless Ralf

June 17, 2003

Frank should be concerned about Ralf’s unwillingness to put a pass on big brother. If Juan could close a 12 second gap down to nothing how come Ralfy boy can’t at least TRY a pass? The new McLaren will never see the track this year. It is so radical they can’t find the outer edge of the envelope without crashing. A fast car also needs to be a contollable car that lets you know when it is approaching the limit without eating a wall.

Kimi is no longer the only person to have stuffed McLaren’s new MP4-18A. They better run the car soon before there are none left! ;)
