Herta’s back in CART

Looks like good old Brian Herta will give CART another go! I am pleased about it. Not only is it another American in the series, but I feel bad for Brian. He was such a promising young guy who just never really made it to the level everyone expected him to. And of course he is famous for that demoralizing pass Alex Zanardi put on him at Laguna in 1996.

Maybe I am over estimating the amount of money a team owner and drag racing leged makes….but shouldn’t Brandon be lusting after something a bit higher level then a 350Z? How about 360…as in Modena, Brandon? ;)
On Target

Racing one has a peice on the Target team. I love the disparity between Tomas and Scott. I really want to like Tomas. His hard charging style is exciting to watch, but he really needs to calm down a bit and bring one home for the sponsors. Whereas Dixon is fairly smooth, yet can make moves and charge for a lead when he needs to, he just needs a little luck. I think it is pretty obvious that Chip Ganassi and Target are not putting the same level of investment into the IRL program they did the Champ Car team. I think all the extra cash is going over to NASCAR. Bit of a shame….don’t you think?
Dario’s back

Dario Franchitti will be back in the car this weekend after missing the last 3 IRL events due to unjuries suffered when he wrecked is motorcycle in his native Scotland. Do you think the Archipelago/Motorola will pay him extra to stay the hell off his bike?
Dare out of hospital

Airton Dare is out of the hospital and in a rehab center. Poor guys seems to be pretty busted up with a broken arm, leg, and hand. I can’t even comprehend that type of impact.
Horsepower rules

Interesting sniping between Ferrari and BMW over who has the stonger engine. Montreal is a true horsepower course. but my pick is Raikonnen. McLaren may have a little less H.P. but Kimi more than makes up for it in balls!

I would hope besides the car a VERY large model of Alex’s heart is suitably displayed. He should start a new career as a motivational speaker. I’d pay to hear him.
