Tracy trounces Toronto
July 13, 2003
Paul Tracy dominated the Molson Indy Toronto today in what will most likely be remembered as the defining win of his career. Mostly because it came on what is considered his home track. Paul’s mom and dad joined him in victory lane…

Panoz tests new driver
July 12, 2003
Guy Cosmo had the chance to test the Panoz ALMS car for the first time and, by all accounts had a very credible performance.
Speaking of performances, I have not seen or heard any reports of how Danica Patrick performed for the Prodrive Ferrari team at Road Atlanta. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Sniper at Silverstone!
July 12, 2003
The two top dogs of Formila 1 are English and they both are threatening to take the Silverstone date elsewhere. Not any time soon! Neither man would be able to come home without body guards and armored cars for transport. I think it’s just smoke to satisfy critics that they are trying to improve the facilities…

Newman-Haas dominates
July 12, 2003
With Bruno Junquira on provisional pole and Sebby Bourdais fastest in Saturday practice, it looks very promising for the Newman-Haas team. You have to wonder what goes thru the mind of poor Bruno. Here he is expecting to have a championship year and this rookie team mate shows up and consistently wipes the track with him!

Don’t do it Eddie!
July 12, 2003
Why does Eddie Cheever think he can race again? Because he owns the damn team! If he wanted to know if he could still be a factor on the track, he should ask himself a brutally honest question: Would any other team give him a seat when there are so many other young talented racers out there? I don’t think so. If Eddie needs to feel the speed, he should play a video game, they’re getting quite realistic these days!
Gordon in a skirt
July 12, 2003
No folks, we’re not talking about cry baby Jeffie, or Robbie the cheater but someone who actually belongs in a skirt. Tina Gordon is a regular in the truck series.
Now that Nextel is driving the sponsorship bus, any speculation as to how soon she will be in the Cup series? Damn soon I would say, especially if she comes with a sponsorship package. Like it’s not hard enough with three Wallaces, several Bodines, now we’ll have to contend with three Gordons.
My fondest wish is that she makes it to the series and is faster than Robbie! Maybe that’ll convince him it’s time to find another occupation!
Tony the tiger on pole
July 12, 2003
Tony Stewart showed more evidence that his season is getting on track by winning the pole at Chicagoland Speedway. His qualifying run was not only good enough for pole position in Sunday’s race, but also set the track record. Not bad for a guy who considers himself a “terrible” qualifier…

Spare the driver
July 11, 2003
NASCAR and major league baseball solve some of their problems the same way. One fires the manager when the team struggles and the other fires the driver. After all, you can’t fire the team.
Larry Mac says spare the drivers!
