Who’s hot…..

Prerace favorites at the Molson Toronto Indy race. My bet is on the rookie sensation, Sebby Bourdais, pending his winning pole and the pit races. Toronto is a notoriously difficult place to pass, most gains are made in the pits.
Ralf’s agent pouncing
July 10, 2003
In the wake of Ralf Schumacher’s recent pole positions and wins, his (and his brother’s) agent Willi Weber has begun to pounce on poor old Frank Williams to sign Ralf to a long term deal with the team. I think Frank is more than smart enough to see that Ralf’s success is only recent. Whether or not he can deliver in the long run is still up in the air. Keep in mind that Frank Williams fired Damon Hill the year he WON the Championship. And Damon Hill was a fellow Englishman…

Firestone sponsors again…..
July 9, 2003
Is the Firestone Tire Company still a viable business? After all those rolling Ford Explorers and countless lawsuites, I thought the brand was dead. They have enough capital to come up with sponsorship at the IRL Michigan race on July 27.
Good for them, even if they are Bridgestone’s by another name!
Ralf begins to bitch

No Cup drivers in Busch?
July 9, 2003
I am sick of traditional sports fans trying to compare auto racing to other major league sports. The latest is “Jeff Gluck” from RockyMountTelegram.com. He feels that it is “unfair” for Winston/Nextel Cup drivers to race in the Busch Series (i.e. Dale Jr. dominating the Busch race in Dayton last weekend).
F1 golf buddies (updated)
July 9, 2003
Martin Brundle (who is chairman of Silverstone’s owner, the British Racing Drivers’ Club) and Mark Blundell are criticizing British former F1 champs Damon Hill and Nigel Mansell for their lack of support for Silverstone and the British GP as of late. The circuit and the race have come under fire from none other than Bernie Ecclestone for what he deemed their wasting money on foolish enhancements to the track….
And today (7/9/03), the golf buddies have answered back.
They even looked cute way back when…
