Pizzonia shocked
July 23, 2003
Antonio Pizzonia has said he was in ‘complete shock‘ after being sacked by Jaguar in favor of Justin Wilson. I think I speak for everyone Antonio, when I say that you are the ONLY one. Antonio has since turned down Jaguar’s offer of a test driver role with the team. However Jackie Stewart has backed Pizzonia and feels the Brazilian needed more time.

The Miami cart event this September has picked up Sportsbook.com as a presenting sponsor. Let’s see, I wonder what are the odds are of Chris pook pulling CART’s fat out of the fire before the end of next year? Think they have a line on that?!
NASCAR without fenders
July 22, 2003
The way the race was “regulated” by IRL officials left something to be desired, according to those punished during the race. All they have to do now is start levying fines for various reasons and we’ve got NASCAR sans fenders!

Racers keep noses clean
July 22, 2003
B. Duane Cross of Sports Illustrated has pointed out how seldom the stars of big league motor sports get caught up in scandals like that which the NBA’s Kobe Bryant currently finds himself mired in. I don’t buy ARCA driver Andy Belmont’s explanation for this phenomenon…
ARCA driver Andy Belmont adds, “We’ve avoided a lot of the problems for the most part because the sport’s organizers don’t offer flexibility to those who act up. It’s pretty simple. If you want to be a NASCAR driver, being a cowboy just isn’t acceptable in today’s times.
I think it has more to do with the maturity level of NASCAR drivers which is a function of their surroundings and how they come up through the system
Michelin in round racing?
July 22, 2003
According to the article Michelin may be in contention for taking over the tire supply instead of Goodyear for all NASCAR events. Yeah, and then they’ll be selling french cabernet instead of Bud to all the fans!
Our good ole’ boy fan base will never buy a Michelin instead of a Goodyear!
