Dixon (still) dominates, Force is back
July 20, 2003
A weekend of great racing ended with the usual suspect in Top Fuel, Larry Dixon taking the win in the final round of Top Fuel competition. However, a former usual suspect who has struggled this year, John Force, scored his first Funny Car win at the Mile High Nationals.
It was great to hear the John Force victory sound bite again after his finals win over Cruz Pedregon. “The Professor” Warren Johnson was once again victorious over Jeg Coughlin, and Blaine Hale took his first victory in Pro Stock Bikes…

Bernie & Max: Silverstone sucks?
July 20, 2003
I don’t know what Bernie and Max are really up to with all the criticism of Silverstone. But I do know that after today’s race they would be absolutely bonkers to take the circuit off the schedule. I saw more passing today than I have in the prior three years. And what passes they were! Rubens was a mad man. For Michael and D.C. to come back from the back of the pack and finish as they did was absolutely incredible. And Jenson had agreat day, not to mention Toyota and Renault. Jacques? In the weeds where he belongs!
Barrichello wins bizarre British GP
July 20, 2003
Rubens Barrichello won what has to be the most action packed F1 race so far this season. The British GP at Silverstone saw David Coulthard’s cockpit shroud fly off to start things off, brining out the safety car. Next, on lap 12 a “demonstrator” ran down the center of entrance to Hangar Straight, the fastest part of the circuit, as cars rushed past him at 200 km/h…

CART’s demise & Pook’s future?
July 19, 2003
Call me a skeptic, but if Chris Pook is in Silverstone this weekend to talk up another F1 race in San Francisco with Bernie, I would say CART is dead. Chris is obviously planning his future without CART!
Another U.S. Grand Prix event?
Herta starting a trend.
July 19, 2003
Bryan Herta is optimistic that his victory at the last IRL event is a trend as opposed to a fluke. Starting from 7th is a good spot to work the race from and hopefully collect another W.
One thing for sure, the Chevy powered cars will not be a threat, only obstacles as they get lapped. All five chevys are in 17 thru 21 starting slots. My man Sam is second from last. Oh, the pain!
Tony tested in Louden
July 19, 2003

It’s wicked comin’ inta New Hampsha!
Toyota targets points
July 19, 2003
Christiano Damatta posted his best qualifying result to date. The lucky guy gets to start with Michael in front of him and Juan behind him! Hopefully he will not wreck anyone and maybe score some points tomorrow.
