Jeff, the “Other” Gordon, at the Glen
August 11, 2003
In a role he’s surely not accustom to, Jeff Gordon found out what it’s like to be the “Other” Gordon. If not for knot headed Biffles first lap mombo with Jeff he surely could have been the winner yesterday
Future of Tracy and CART
August 11, 2003
With his brilliant performance this year Paul Tracy may be setting himself up for a possible F1 ride next season, after CART disappears into financial chaos.
Wouldn’t you love to see Tracy on the same track with Ralf and the other whiners of F!? Imagine Paul giving the “Chrome Horn” to some back marker not willing to move over. That would generate some excitement!
Unser crewman injured
August 11, 2003
One of Al Unsers crewmen was injured during green flag pitstops at yesterdays race. Thank goodness his condition is upgraded to fair, and he was being held overnight for observations.
Montoya’s backers for FI Championship
August 11, 2003
I hope these people don’t put the “Hex” on Juan with their predictions of his claiming the crown this year. I also think it will provide Michael with that little extra motivation to bring it on in the end.
If the weather in Europe continues to be blisteringly hot Juan and Michelin will take the title; if rain or cooler weather comes around I think Michael will qualify better and win from there.
DEI “not committed” to Junior
August 11, 2003
I find it totally amazing that Dale Earnhardt Jr. drives for a team that bears his name, yet they cannot agree to contract terms. I know he isn’t Teresa’s son, but c’mon now! He is the star of the team, the prodigal son of the greatest NASCAR driver who ever lived….and the team’s genetic connection to him. Give him what he wants! Could you imagine Dale Earnhardt Jr. not driving for Dale Earnhardt, Inc.!? Well, I guess there are a lot of people who would like to see him driving a Richard Childress #3 car one day…but not yet…

Oh Canada, at Mid-Ohio!
August 10, 2003
Players team mates Tracy and Carpentier take 1-2 at Mid-Ohio. What a shame that team Players is being forced out of the sport. Surprise finish of the race is Ryan Hunter-Reay, starting from the 2nd slot and finishing third.

Gordon rules the Glen
August 10, 2003
No, not that Gordon, the OTHER Gordon, as in Robbie the Road Warrior. With today’s victory at Watkins and his controversial win at Sonoma he has dominated the NASCAR road races this year (all two of them).
Pole sitter Jeff Gordon spun on the first lap of the race and made an amazing run back to front, only run out of gas in the last turn and be punted into the wall by a charging Kevin Harvick as Jeff car lost steam. Jeff was also very displeased with the response time of the Watkins Glen safety crew. Ryan Newman had similar complaints in his Friday flip that left him trapped in the car….

August 9, 2003
After giving a weekend of glory and the points lead to Bruno Junqu last week at Road America, Paul Tracy is back to his winning ways at Mid-Ohio. Paul took the pole whil Ryan Hunter-Reay shocked everyone by taking second on the grid….
