de Ferran to retire, Hornish to Penske
August 25, 2003
Penske Racing has announced that Gil de Ferran will retire from racing at the end of this season. To no ones amazement he will be replaced at Penske by 2001/2002 IRL Champ Sam Hornish. Winning Indy most likely put the icing on the cake for Gil, not to mention the pair of concussions he received in wrecks this past year. Time to get out while the gettin’ is still good.
