Hornish Juggernaut Rolls Over California
September 21, 2003
You might think that a driver with the best ride in racing all lined up for next year might get complacent and give up fighting for this years championship. You might think that…if we weren’t talking about Sam Hornish. Sam beat all comers at Fontana to take the win and is now a mere 19 points away from the IRL championship. The event today was the fastest race in IRL history.
Do you think Sam might be having second thoughts about going to Penske seeing as how he keeps beating them? Nah
Seventh heaven for Newman at Dover!
September 21, 2003
Ryan Newman took his seventh victory of the season at Dover today. In a refreshing change of pace Ryan had a great battle with Jeremy Mayfield in the last 30 laps. Jeremy Mayfield was both happy with second and “pissed off” that he didn’t win, dropping an s-bomb on national television in a post race interview.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. was in what appeared to be a light single car wreck on lap 365 but was unconscious briefly and was extricated from the car and will be flown to a local area hospital for further evaluation. He buckled himself into the helicopter under his own power, so the hospital trip appears to be strictly precautionary. Dale Jr. will drop to fourth in the points standing as a result of today’s performance. Kevin Harvick has moved up to second behind Matt Kenseth, and Jimmie Johnson has taken over third spot…

September 21, 2003
Jordan Grand Prix racing team faces the loss of another sponsor. Eddie Jordan has been pretty resilient over the years in keeping his team afloat. With the wholesale loss of sponsors of late the teams viability for 2004 has to be questioned. A free engine package from Mercedes, Toyota, or Cosworth would go a long way to another year of racing for Jordan.

Frentzen on the defensive
September 21, 2003
Heinz-Harald Frentzen is very defensive over his alleged blocking of Juan Pablo at the Monza Grand Prix. His defense? His mirrors were smeared with oil, and as soon as he was notified by radio that it was Montoya trailing him and not Mark Webber, he immediately moved over. Hey Heinz, what did you think those blue flags waved at you for three laps meant? Pretty lame excuse, surely Sauber can come up with better then that!

CART sale on track
September 21, 2003
At least according to the latest press release from both parties. If CART and OWRS expect disgruntled share holder John Vannini to loose his 15 million dollar investment without a fight, they both are day dreaming. Prior to the sale Vannini will be included in the deal or law suits will kill the deal.
