(October 29, 2003) - Ward Burton’s day Sunday was spoiled on Tuesday afternoon when NASCAR announced that the team had been penalized for unapproved modifications to the carburetor venturi. Opening day technical inspection disclosed the alterations that resulted in a hefty fine for crew chief Tony Furr and the loss of 25 driver points and owner points.
