McLaren Mum on ‘05 Lineup

There are no guarantees for either current McLaren driver in 2005. An earlier posting discussed the pressure on David Coulthard to find a new ride in ‘05, due to the signing of Juan Pablo Montoya by McLaren. I think the pressure is on Kimi. If he managed better qualifying positions during ‘03 I am certain he would have had at least three more points, and a championship for himself as well as the team.
I think the pressure is all on Kimi to outright win the title this year. If he falls short of that due to driver errors or lack of experience, I think Coulthard will be in the No. 2 car for McLaren in ‘05.

U.S. District Judge Frank J. Otte has approved CART’s proposed sales procedures to Open Wheel Racing Series LLC. This comes just two weeks after the series filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy as part of the agreement with OWRS. I love how the justice system picks up speed in order to save a racing series…
