Team Old’n Bold
December 15, 2003
Now here is an idea that may have some merit. A new team ( Old’n Bold ) with four of the top old hands sharing the ride for the entire season. Lets get Bill Elliott, Terry Labonte, Dale Jarrett and Rusty Wallace to split the ride over the 36 race season. After all, they wouldn’t win much, and could still generate fan interest and keep those souveneir sales going.
But, if they manage to use the current points set up which favors consistency to the maximum, they damn well might win the championship without winning a single race all year.

Rusty’s Delimma….
December 15, 2003
…Or why he has lost that winning touch. DW summarizes the essence of Rusty’s problem; he is a hopeless tinkerer. As opposed to a driver who takes advice and is willing to try new concepts, I get the impression Rusty is always on the point of trying new adjustments as opposed to new concepts.
I sure hope he can rebound and grab some “W’s” before he is pushed out the door. Maybe the tire and aero changes next year will be to his liking and driving style.

Michelin Winter Testing
December 15, 2003
Michelin has declared satisfaction with testing to date. Wet tyre testing has been conducted due to Spanish weather conditions. Michelin was able to be competitive thru most of last season due to the lack of rain during most of the season, the notable exception being Brazil. The American GP higlighted Michelin’s inability to come to grips with a good wet tyre compound. If improvements aren’t made and we have a normal season with rain in all the expected places, Bernie may as well send the trophies to Michael and Ferrari right now.

Button Still Being Linked to Williams for 2005
December 15, 2003
First of all, I can totally see Frank taking back Jenson Button, who drove for him in 2000, to fill the void that will be left by Juan Montoya’s departure to Mclaren in 2005. Secondly, how amazing would a Webber-Button duo at Williams be? I feel it in my gut that these two guys are next Senna vs. Prost match up! I can’t wait.
Thirdly…why are worrying so much about 2005 when we haven’t even started 2004 yet!?
