BAR Launch 2004 Car
February 1, 2004
BAR launched their 2004 challenger today in a low-key ceremony in Barcelona. BAR team boss David Richards has again promised that BAR will challenge the top three teams for race wins. While this type of tough talk is common place for press events, the likihood that they will be able to get past Renault in order to challenge the top three is slim…to none…but anything can happen…

NASCAR Drivers Impacting Rolex Daytona 24
February 1, 2004
After 12 hours and with another 12 to go, the drivers of Nascar are demonstrating their versatility by leading the overall race. Well at least two Nascar drivers. Mr. Petty and Mr. Gordon are not fairing quite as well, and Jimmie Johnson’s team I believe are in third place overall. A more then respectable showing from a buch of oval drivers!

Schumi Acknowledges Fernando
February 1, 2004
Defending five time world champion (I refuse to recognize last years theft of the title!) Michael Schumacher has finally spoken the sentiment I am sure he has always felt: Fernando Alonso is a driver to watch in 2004. Not only is Fernando one to be watched, I suspect most drivers wil be watching him drive by and way!

Halfway Standings At Daytona
February 1, 2004
After 12 hours at the Rolex Daytona 24 hour enduro, the team of Howard-Boss Motorsports with drivers Andy Wallace-Tony Stewart-Dale Earnhardt Jr. are the overall leaders. Interestingly, Tony Stewart ran consistently 1-2 seconds per lap quicker then the rest during rain conditions at night. I guess all that dirt track slippin’ an’ slidin’ experience paid off.

More European Track Attrition
February 1, 2004
2004 will be the last appearance on the schedule for the San Marino GP at Imola. Bernie is continuing to sacrifice European venues for international tracks that are tobacco friendly like Bahrain and China. Soon to come are Turkey, Russia ,and India, with Korea and lord knows where else in the works.
Did Canada make it back on the grid this year? With all the changes and potential changes this year, I can’t keep up anymore!
