Mexican Confusion Continues
March 17, 2004
On the heels of the departure of Adrian Fernandez to the IRL there is much talk of where Rahal Racing, with young Mexican driver Michel Jourdain Jr., will run this season. Will they follow Adrian’s lead and bolt to the IRL? Or will they stick it out with an increasing unstable looking OWRS/Champ Car series?
Turmoil At McLaren?
March 16, 2004
According to inside sources at McLaren F1, there is great dissension over the lack of performance of this years F1 car. The focus of the concern? None other then Ron Dennis. The back biters within the team are attributing the cars failure after one race to Ron’s lack of attention. That alone must be an indicator of how bad the car really is, and how difficult the fix must be.
Battle Of The Bucks
March 15, 2004
With the annoucement of the defection of Fernandez Racing to the IRL, many folks are now questioning Champ Cars ability to field a race for Long Beach on April 18. The IRL was willing to spend 14 million dollars or more to accquire the road racing assets of CART, and hopefully, put an end to OWRS. However, with the assignment of those rights to OWRS, the IRL is now attempting to solve its problems by making big money offers to the Champ Car teams to join the IRL.

F1 Talk Is Cheap…
March 12, 2004
…unless it’s Ferrari talking about the hot weather Bridgestone tire compounds they have been testing in Spain this week. The verdict? According to Rubens Barrichello, they have a very good tire to bring to Malaysia next week. The implication of course, don’t get your hopes up boys, we’ll be just as strong at Sepang as at Albert Park.
I am sure of only one thing, of the collective groan that went up in all the other team offices when this story appeared. Good luck lads, please find some magic in those Michelins, or risk further trampling under the chariots of the scarlet assassins.
