A must read for open wheel racing fans who need a refresher on how the cycles of factory (car makers and engine suppliers) support affect the fortunes of racing in general. With the well heeled partners of OWRS prepared to invest heavily into the series, I am once again feeling better about their ability to survive the current conflict. Until the manufacturers return.

Headlines Michelin Dread To Read

“Not as hot as expected” With Michael, Ferrari, and Bridgestone dominating in the first two events this year, Michelin have been praying for the hot weather which used to favor their rubber last year. Based on the results this year it would seem Bridgestone have significantly advanced and Michelin are barely holding their own.

Young Gun Out Of Ammo?

The “Young Gun” in question would be Ryan Newman, who seems to fire all his bullets during qualifying and runs out of ammo during the race. Newman continues on his impressive way of winning pole after pole, but can’t seem to translate the pole into racing wins. Maybe he is catching “Rustyitis” and doesn’t know it!

NASCAR Did Right Thing By Not Playing Favorites

Jourdain & Gigante Join RuSPORT

Former Rahal driver and sponsor combo Michel Jourdain and Gigante have announced that they will join RuSPORT Racing for the 2004 Champ Car season. Jourdain will be teammates with AJ Allmendinger, who moved up to Champ Cars this season along with the RuSPORT team after winning the Toyota Atlantic series championship last season.
