Minardi? Usually, but both of the Wilux Minardi’s finished yesterday’s European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Granted, 3 laps down, but they at least demonstrated reliability. Jordan, Jaguar? Wrong again fans, both cars of each team again completed the race. It’s a sad day when a team with the heritage and winning tradition of McLaren is now considered the laughing stock of the sport. More importantly, who is to blame and is there a fix in sight?

TOPEKA, Kan. (May 30, 2004) - Whit Bazemore is on a hot streak in his Matco Tools Iron Eagle Dodge Stratus. He reached his fifth Funny Car final round of the last six races today at the O’Reilly NHRA Summer Nationals and scored his second win of the season, the 17th of his career, while earning his crew chief Lee Beard his 50th national-event win as a crew chief. He also extended his points lead in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series to 76 over Del Worsham, and 80 over John Force.

TOPEKA, Kan. — Brandon Bernstein moved into the POWERade Series points lead by racing to the Top Fuel victory Sunday at the 16th annual O’Reilly NHRA Summer Nationals presented by Castrol GTX at Heartland Park Topeka.

Whit Bazemore and Greg Anderson also were winners at the $1.9 million race, the ninth of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.

Michael Schumacher led the fourth Ferrari 1-2 finish of the season today at the Nurburgring in Germany. Schumacher had such a fast first stint that the flux capacitor in his Ferrari was activated thrusting him forward in time to Monday where he sipped a Martini and read Autosport while the rest of the field was struggling through their first few laps. ;)
