Dixon, Densham, Line & Hines Win at Englishtown

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Two-time defending NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon broke a losing streak that lasted 18 races by winning Sunday at the 35th annual K&N Filters NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.
Gary Densham (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Bike) also earned victories in their respective categories at the $2.1 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event.
Bourdais Wins Portland

Pole sitter Sebastien Bourdais held off his Newman/Haas teammate Bruno Junqueira through three starts to win the Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland. Bourdais led all but six laps of the 94 race laps. The laps that Sebastien didn’t lead were led by current champion Paul Tracy who finished the day where he started, in third place.

Montoya on Racing at Indy

Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya has an interesting piece in England’s Daily Telegraph where he reflects on his unique experiences at the Brickyard. Juan is one of only a few drivers to compete in the Indy 500 as well as the F1 race there on the infield track. I especially like Juan’s choice of title for the article.

Bourdais on Portland Pole

Sebastien Bourdais watched his Newman/Haas teammate figuratively disappear in the distance during first-round qualifying for the Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland, but he and his McDonald’s-sponsored machine made up the distance and then some during Saturday qualifying as he scored the pole for Sunday’s 94-lap event at Portland International Raceway.
Barrichello On USGP Pole

Rubens Barrichello out-qualified his teammate Michael Schumacher for the first time this season at the USGP. BAR continued it’s run for second best with Takuma Sato and Jenson Button locking up the next two spots. They were followed by the Williams teammates (Juan in 5th and Ralf in 6th). Olivier Panis had an uncharacteristically good session starting 8th behind Kimi Raikkonen.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — In dominating fashion, Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series rookie Max Angelelli snapped a four-race pole-winning streak by No. 01 CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing Lexus Riley teammates Scott Pruett and Max Papis, and put the No. 10 SunTrust Racing Pontiac Riley on the pole position for Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen (SPEED Channel, Live, 11 a.m. ET).
