Today’s guest is a man who has become a week in, week out contender for every race and a prime candidate to finish in the top 10 in the point standings and qualify for the Chase for the NASCAR Nextel Cup. Jamie McMurray, driver of the No. 42 Havoline Dodge currently sits in 12th place in NASCAR Nextel Cup Series point standings and is only four points out of 10th place, a key spot, and 433 behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jamie has registered eight top-10 finishes this season including a third-place run at Rockingham, at fourth-place finish at Las Vegas and Charlotte.
Harvick and Kenseth Fined $25,000 For Pocono Bumps

Somewhat to the surprise of some observers, Matt Kenseth and Kevin Harvick have both been fined $25,000 and placed on probation until August 11 after several incidents of bumping between the two in the closing laps of Sunday’s Pocono 500. The surprise here is that there was no loss in points, a longer probation and possibly even a suspension of one or two races. Attached is the entire release from NASCAR:

NASCAR has been under fire in recent weeks to reevaluate their policies and procedures regarding caution flags. After a disastrous race at Dover last weekend, where almost one quarter of the race was run under caution, fans and media cried foul. The most offending caution occurred after Ryan Newman wrecked on pit road, which resulted in NASCAR running 24 laps of yellow to realign the field.

KIRKERSVILLE, Ohio - Greg Anderson earned his eighth win of the season Sunday, earning the Pro Stock title at the 40th annual Pontiac Excitement NHRA Nationals at National Trail Raceway.
Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel), Del Worsham (Funny Car) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Bike) also earned victories in their respective categories at the $2 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event.
