The Old Bridge Township Raceway Park (site of the NHRA K&N Filters SuperNationals) web site has put out a call for the support of local residents and race fans to help fight new legislation that would remove the Motor Vehicle Racetrack Exemption from the Noise Control Act of 1971 thus making pro-level drag racing there pretty much illegal…

The mediocrity in question is Jarno Trulli, the released for 2005 Renault driver, allegedly going to Toyota next year. One win (this year, at Monaco, lest we forget!) 4 podiums and one pole in 124 starts. So who is the really mediocre driver of whom I speak?
Dixon Good To Go For Michigan

2003 IndyCar series Champ Scott Dixon has been cleared to race at Michigan this weekend. Scott had to pull out of the Menards A.J. Foyt Indy 225 at The Milwaukee Mile last weekend due to injuries to his thumb and ankle sustained in Saturday practice/qualifying crashes.
Fisichella to Renault, Not Williams

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella’s manager has announced that he has a two year agreement to drive for Renault starting in 2005. Many had expected Giancarlo to go to Williams and partner Mark Webber in 2005.
Mike Beam Returns as Tide Team Crew Chief

HICKORY, NC — Cal Wells has reinstated crew chief duties to competition director, Mike Beam for the No. 32 Tide Racing team. Beam returned to PPI Motorsports as competition director at the end of 2003 after a one-year absence from the team, while Dave Charpentier was hired as crew chief.

PORTLAND, OR - JJ Lehto and Marco Werner set an American Le Mans Series record Sunday with their fourth consecutive overall race win as they took a hard-fought victory in the Grand Prix of Portland at Portland International Raceway.
Kurt Busch Takes Loudon Checker

Kurt Busch came back from a 32nd-place starting position to win the Siemens 300 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race at New Hampshire International Speedway. Ryan Newman dominated the first half of the race but most attention was centered on Dale Earnhardt Jr as he started his car only to cede the driver’s seat to Martin Truex Jr on the first caution. Earnhardt is still suffering from burns received in a crash during practice for an American LeMans Series road race a week ago at Infineon Raceway.
