NHRA Skoal Showdown Teleconference

Whit Bazemore, Gary Scelzi, Tony Pedregon and John Force, four of the eight qualified drivers for the Skoal Showdown participated in a teleconference previewing the lucrative bonus event for Funny Car drivers. The Skoal Showdown will be contested Sunday, Sept. 5, during the running of the 50th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The winner of the Skoal Showdown will earn $100,000 and have a shot at more than $235,000 for the weekend if that driver goes on to win the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals.

I’ve often wanted to go to a high priced racing school such as Skip Barber or Russell. Or even perhaps attend one the of the NASCAR “Experience” schools that let you rip around an oval in a highly restricted race car. I mean, it can’t hurt right? It must be totally safe if they let any “Joe Shmo” get behind the wheel. Plus you never hear about any crashing in a racing school…until now anyways.
