The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team today continued testing at Silverstone, with Fernando Alonso and Jacques Villeneuve representing the team.
Jarno Trulli Completes Toyota’s 2005 Driver Line-up

The Panasonic Toyota Racing team has today confirmed that Jarno Trulli will join the team as a race driver from 2005. The Italian driver signed a two-year contract on Tuesday 14 September at Toyota Motorsport’s headquarters in Cologne, which will see him partner German driver Ralf Schumacher from next season.

Marino Franchitti Lands Panoz Ride

Marino Franchitti, little brother of the IRL’s Dario Franchitti, has landed a job for the final two races of the ALMS season with Panoz. Marino will co-drive the Panoz Esperante at The Petit Le Mans event next weekend. Petit runs over 1,000 miles or 10 hours and is the next round of the ALMS championship.

Keeping in the theme of the recent “true lies” in F1, Sauber has confirmed speculation that Jacques Villeneuve has signed on to drive for the team in 2005. Villeneuve inked a two year deal with the team on his way to England to test for Renault in preparation for the last three races of 2004 with that team.
