Castroneves Gives Toyota Third Straight Pole at Fontana

Helio Castroneves put his Marlboro Toyota on the pole for a third consecutive race in qualifying for Sunday’s Toyota Indy 400 at the California Speedway. The pole is the fourth of the season for Castroneves and his second straight Toyota Indy 400 pole.
Nemechek On EA Sports 500 Pole

Champ Car team owner Carl Haas has confirmed that his team will be back in Champ Car in 2005 and will have the same driver lineup of Bruno Junqueira and soon-to-be champ Sebastien Bourdais. Fortunately Haas was able to iron out his differences with his team co-owner Paul Newman.

Trulli Will Race At Suzuka

After initially stating that their newly acquired driver Jarno Trulli would wait until next year to drive an F1 race again, Toyota has announced that Jarno will pilot the car at Suzuka instead of Ricardo Zonta who had been filling in since the team sacked Cristiano da Matta. Additionally, Olivier Panis, who had announced that he would retire to a testing role with Toyota at the conclusion of the 2004 season, has been coerced into retiring one race early. This will allow Ricardo Zonta to pilot Panis’ car in the GP or Brazil, his home race.
