Hendrick MotorSports driver Jimmie Johnson celebrated his second win in a row just minutes before it was announced that an airplane belonging to Hendrick MotorSports was lost to FAA radar a few miles away from Martinsville, VA. The craft was ferrying family and team members to the race. Team owner Rick Hendrick’s son Ricky, brother John Hendrick and his twin daughters, Kimberly and Jennifer were among the victims of an airplane crash Sunday. Hendrick’s chief engine builder, Randy Dorton was among those lost. Flying as pasengers on the craft were Scott Latham, Tony Stewart’s pilot, Joe Jackson and Jeff Turner and the aircraft crew Dick Tracy and Liz Morrison, according to news reports.
