Wednesday kicked off with breakfast in the Hilton’s University Ballroom featuring Petty Enterprises team-owner Richard Petty and driver Jeff Green.
Pro Stock Bike Record Will Fall in 2005

Okay, I’m calling my shot. Sometime in the two bike races of the 2005 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing season, the Pro Stock Bike six second barrier will be broken. Sure I am not going out on a limb seeing how Andrew Hines set the national record at 7.016 seconds last year. Why am I so confident? Both U.S. Army Pro Stock Bikes dipped below the seven second mark in testing recently.

Notes from all of Monday’s visits and panels on the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Media Tour hosted by Lowe’s Motor Speedway. We had lunch with MB/Sutton Racing, a visit to the NASCAR R&D Center with Brian France and others, then dinner with the Craftsman Truck Series. The evening ended with the presentation to NHRA star Greg Anderson of his SPEED Channel Driver of the Year trophy.

INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 26, 2005) - Multi-team owner Don Schumacher has confirmed that he has signed Ron Capps to drive a Brut-sponsored Dodge Stratus R/T Funny Car in the 2005 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Schumacher also confirmed that Ed “Ace” McCulloch will tune this new entry from Don Schumacher Racing, along with co-crew chief Dan Olson.
