Here We Go Again
March 25, 2005
Every few years there always seems to be discussion about the possible sale of the NHRA. Not a race team competing in the NHRA, but the entire sanctioning body. This time it is Bruton Smith, owner of Speedway Motorsports, Incorporated that is making noises about possibly buying the world’s largest motorsports sanctioning body. March 24, 2005
The appeals have been heard and the decisions rendered. In a fairly rare reversal, the National Stock Car Racing Commission has partially reversed the penalties levied against Chad Knaus and Alan Gustafson by NASCAR following the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Stop the Complaining Already
March 23, 2005
Andrew Hines broke the coveted six second barrier this past weekend in the NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle category. The chorus of complaints has yet to fade. Much like Kenny Bernstein will forever be know as the first man to break the 300 mph barrier, Hines and his Harley V-twin will be synonymous with breaking the motorcycle six second barrier. Suzuki rider, Antron Brown, is complaining that the Harley’s have an unfair advantage. To that I say, “Get over it”.

Thanks to various sources, here are the notes and quotes from Sunday’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Golden Corral 500 race. Carl Edwards completed his sweep of the Busch and NEXTEL Cup races by edging out Jimmie Johnson’s Chevy with a margin of victory of a scant 0.028 second. Edwards celebrated with one of his trademark back flips before driving the No. 99 Ford to Victory Lane.
