Dan Wheldon took the first victory of the 2005 IRL racing season today at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Wheldon won by a huge margin thanks in part to his teammate and 2004 series champ Tony Kanaan trying to hold off Penske drivers Helio Castroneves and Sam Hornish Jr. Kanaan finished third and Hornish was able to steal second by a fraction of a second.

No, not Quigley, but Fisi! Giancarlo Fisichella has fulfilled a ten year driving ambition by winning the Australian Grand Prix. The Italian Renault driver did it in fine style by leading every lap (Except for pit stop rotations) without serious threat from anyone. Least of all from that Schumacher guy.
