Groups” bunch have put together a petition aimed at the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach’s (GPALB) president and general manager, Jim Michaelian. The GPALB is the body that would make the decision to invite the IRL to run the GP of Long Beach next year instead of Champ Car.

Greg Biffle kept coming back from setbacks to dominate the Samsung/Radio Shack 500 at Texas Motor Speedway Sunday. Biffle crashed his primary car in the second practice and started 41st on the grid in a backup car. Casey Mears looked like the only car capable of pressuring Biffle’s Ford for the win, then faded slightly in the closing laps of the 334-lap event, ceding second place to Jamie McMurray, then dropping to fourth behind Jimmie Johnson.
