Tony Stewart proved that even a refugee from dirt open-wheelers can pick up the (totally different) skill set for road courses, executing a textbook late-brake crossover and dive inside move on leader Ricky Rudd, then went on to hold the lead until the checkered flag.

It was a story book finish for Randy Ruhlman and Derhaag Motorsports as they went from the back of the field to take the victory. It was Ruhlman’s second of the year and second of his career in Trans-Am. After 3 events Ruhlman has won 2 and finished 3rd at Portland giving him command of the points.
