In a recent Q & A with John Force, daughter Ashley and wife Laurie, John Force alluded to a new reality show for the A&E network was in development based on him and his family. With the influx of garbage offered up on TV these days and the avalanche of reality shows on cable and satellite, this is one show I will make sure not to miss. The reasoning is not why you think.

The 2005 NASCAR Nextel Cup season still has seven races to go before the Chase for the Cup, but teams are already starting to look for drivers to fill the seats of their empty rides. Micheal Waltrip, Sterling Marlin, Scott Riggs and Casey Mears are all top Cup drivers that are definitely or have been rumored to be changing teams.

Dale Jarrett, second-generation star driver, was the guest at this week’s NASCAR NEXTEL Teleconference this week. Jarrett’s father, Ned, was a champion driver in the 50s and 60s and set the early example for drivers who moved straight into a broadcast booth out of the driver’s seat.

ESPN, the self-proclaimed “Worldwide Wide Leader in Sports”, should change their tag line to “The Worldwide Leader in Self-promotion”. Between the litanies of commercials you see on this network is a barrage of promos and advertisements touting programs the network will air in the next couple of days or weeks. Have you seen that really funny and creative commercial on ESPN promoting the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series? You haven’t? I guess that is because there are none and instead that air time is used to promote the WNBA, the World Series of Poker, the Great Outdoors Games, professional bowling, X Games and even competitive eating.
