Dave Grubnic and John Force were tops in their respective categories following four days of pre-season testing at Firebird International Raceway near Phoenix. NHRA race teams are preparing for the 2006 POWERade Drag Racing Series season-opener, the 46th annual CARQUEST Auto Parts Winternationals, Feb. 9-12 at historic Auto Club Raceway at Pomona in Southern California.

Wheldon Tops Testing at PIR

Dan Wheldon toured the Target Chip Ganassi Racing Dallara/Honda around Phoenix International Raceway at 178.483 mph today as the Indy Racing League’s private testing session came to a close. His speed was the fastest of sixteen drivers practicing over the two-session, two-day whirl.
