Jeff Gordon won his first race of the 2006 season by beating out Terry Labonte and Ryan Newman late in the race. The win was Gordon’s ninth career road course victory and his 74th career win at the top level of NASCAR racing. Gordon started in 11th on the grid and the win moved him to tenth in points.
