Zanardi Returns to F1 Car

Alex Zanardi’s career in F1 was short and not especially notable with no wins but he thrilled audiences with his speed in CART, winning championships for Chip Ganassi Racing before losing both legs in a shattering crash at EuroSpeedway Lausitz in 2001. Recently, Zanardi has been racing in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, with one win at Istanbul in the current season. He was given the opportunity to test a BMW Sauber, modified to his needs, November 24-26 at Valencia, Spain.

Jason Line wins the Pro Stock championship at the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals. Tony Schumacher, Jack Beckman, Richie Stevens, Jr. and Andrew Hines take the Wallys.
Schumacher did what he needed to do to out in the desert. “Fast Jack” Beckman blasted through eliminations to win his first Funny Car trophy. Richie Stevens, Jr. survived earlier mechanical headaches to take out the new champion in the finals. Hines takes the holeshot, and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons was the race Grand Marshal. Only in Vegas!
Montoya Debuts, Memphis Sam’s Town 250

The fun continues in Vegas, as all of Friday’s provisional low qualifiers held onto their poles except in Pro Stock Motorcycle, where Shawn Gann bumped Andrew Hines.

What happens here is supposed to stay here, but too many drag racing fans are blabbing….Tony Schumacher is still in the hunt for that Top Fuel championship, and his Friday run proves it.

Harvick has already clinched the NASCAR Busch Series championship for the season and is still mathematically in the chase for the NEXTEL Cup. Terry Labonte is a two-time Cup champion, with series crowns in 1984 and 1996. “Texas Terry” Labonte is retiring at the end of the season, with Texas his final race.

Jimmie Johnson, returning to the track that holds sad memories for the entire Hendrick MotorSports operation. Martinsville was the track where, two years ago, a team airplane crashed approaching the nearby airport, killing all on board. Johnson won that day and returned to the oldest Victory Lane in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup racing again Sunday, dedicating the win to the memory of those lost.
