Nico Hulkenberg, Germany’s teenage driving sensation, wins at A1GP South Africa. Manager Willi Weber may nudge his young star to F1, as he did Michael Schumacher, before the A1GP season resumes in March.

This is (so far) the year of the sweep in NASCAR. Last week, Kevin Harvick won the Busch and Cup ends of the weekend. Today, Matt Kenseth repeated the sweep at California Speedway, defeating Jeff Gordon by nearly eight tenths of a second after a late-race red flag. The race was halted for 15 minutes for cleanup after David Reutimann’s hard crash late in the race.

Schumacher, Hight and Line hold onto the low qualifier poles at CSK Nationals.
After the smoke cleared from a day of striking tires (lots of folks) exploding engines (Cruz Pedregon) and burst panels sailing through the desert (Ashley Force) the Friday provisional qualifiers all held their positions and John Force squeaked into his 394th event qualification.

With Firebird International Raceway track temperatures hovering around sixty degrees by the second qualifying round, it was only a matter of time before some racing records were blown away.
