NHRA Funny Car driver Eric Medlen was injured in a testing accident Monday at Gainesville Raceway. It has been reported on numerous racing and news outlets of this incident and the latest update is that Medlen remained in critical condition today in intensive care at Shands at the University of Florida medical center.

Woodhouse SPEED Challenge Drivers On Racing Against Jimmie Johnson

CONCORD, N.C. - Woodhouse Performance SPEED World Challenge Drivers On Racing Against Jimmie Johnson At Charlotte - Brian Smith and Jeff Courtney, drivers for Woodhouse Performance, have discovered that they will be racing against the reigning NASCAR NEXTEL Cup champion, Jimmie Johnson, at a race scheduled for Lowe’s Motor Speedway during the May 24 CTC Pole Night for this year’s Coca Cola 600. This will be the fourth round of the road racing series for performance sedans and sports cars.

Chomping into Gainesville at Gatornationals

Dixon, Hight, Anderson and Sampey take poles at the Gators.

After driving past the University of Florida “Beef Research Unit” on pretty County Road 225, the faithful arrived in droves to the raceway in Gainesville, Florida for the traditional kickoff of the East Coast drag racing season. Fans were not disappointed as two national records were set during qualifying at the 38th ACDelco Gatornationals.
