Gordon Takes 77th Career Win at Talladega

The fans who dislike Jeff Gordon are just going to have to get used to him doing well and winning races. If they’re tossing beer cans on the track in frustration (embarrassing the sport in the process) they need to knock it off before they spend time in handcuffs.

Gordon won his 77th career victory today at Talladega Superspeedway, when the field was frozen for a caution during the “overdrive/overtime” lap and he was the driver in the lead. Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson was second and Kurt Busch was third.

Venezuelan IndyCar Series rookie Milka Duno successfully navigated the Indy Racing League Speed Test on Thursday at Kansas Speedway, bringing her bid to become part of the first three-woman open-wheel field in history closer to fruition. She’ll participate in qualifications in Kansas City on Saturday (April 28th) as she attempts to make the field for Sunday’s 300-mile race.
