DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. - The last NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race at Daytona Speedway (next year, the races become Sprint Cup races) went to Jamie McMurray in a paper-thin victory over Kyle Busch. Announced as a margin of only five thousandths of a second, the race tied the second narrowest margin of victory since NASCAR switched to electronic timing in the early 1990s. Kurt Busch followed his younger brother home in third, with Carl Edwards fourth and Jeff Gordon fifth.

While the final qualifying session wasn’t boring, the results were nothing unusual. Sebastian Bourdais pulled off another amazing lap, beating Justin Wilson to the pole position by just 11-one-thousands of a second!
