Friday, August 31, 2007 - Justin took full advantage of the wet first qualifying session at Assen to take the provisional pole in the #9/CDW/RuSPORT car with a lap time nearly one second faster around the 2.83 mile, TT Circuit Assen than second place qualifier, Simon Pagenaud in the #15/Aussie Vineyards/Team Australia car.

With the U.S. Nationals underway this weekend it got me to thinking of all the great racers that have been a part of this prestigious race. That led to thoughts of wondering what ever happened to a few of the racers that won’t be in Indy this weekend but had an impact of the sport of drag racing. With that in mind, this is the first installment of a ‘Where are they now?’ series that discovers what ever happened to a number of racers that are not currently racing in the NHRA. A newly-formed group of investors has joined together to design and construct a state-of-the-art customer wind tunnel project near Charlotte, N.C. known as Wind Tunnel eXtreme. This project will help provide teams from all motorsports disciplines an ‘unfair advantage’ in aerodynamic development. The core of this program is expected to be the most advanced automotive wind tunnel in the world, utilizing technology that is not available today even to Formula 1 teams.

Ethanol Mixture Adopted as Fuel for International Series
A1GP World Cup of Motorsport announced on Tuesday (August 28th) a series of environmentally-friendly initiatives to be implemented in the coming 2007/08 A1GP season.
Chief among the changes are a move to a thirty percent biofuel Ethanol mixture to power the 3.5 liter Zytek V-8 engines of the sleek Lola-bodied open-wheel cars.
