Potential future of CART series

With its finances in dismal shape and speculation as to wether there is enough funding to complete the entire 2004 season, there is now news of a buyout. CART team owners will buy the series out and re-launch it under a whole new concept where the series would run in big markets on city street courses and be combined with rock concerts.
I really like the idea of pairing rock with racing, but I still don’t buy the whole “big market” and “city streets” component. If I lived in a big city I would rather drive out to the country for a race on a Sunday that deal with a race series blocking off the streets downtown and messing up my commute for a week. But hey that’s just me…and all the other miserable people who commute along side me every morning and night.
