Scott Dixon Drives to Nashville SuperSpeedway Win
Written by Allan Brewer · July 15, 2007
Scott Dixon claimed his second consecutive IndyCar Series victory by winning the rain-postponed Firestone Indy 200 at Nashville Superspeedway.
From Indy Racing League Media Reports:
Dixon, who started on pole, took control of the race from area resident Dario Franchitti, with a three-wide pass of the reigning and Indianapolis 500 winner and Target Chip Ganassi teammate Dan Wheldon as they battled lapped traffic.
The win was Dixon’s second straight at the 1.33-mile concrete oval and cut Franchitti’s series point lead to 34 points.
Danica Patrick finished third, matching her career-best finish, followed by defending IndyCar Series champion Sam Hornish Jr. and Marco Andretti.

Missed most of the race ’cause I had to catch a train back from Philly. Proud of the Iceman, though….and Danica. Can’t believe I just said that, but the girl be DRIVIN’….Oh, and props to Dario for proving once again that he is anything but an ‘accidental’ winner this year (which I wondered about in this space earlier in the season). I bow down in awe…
