Dixon wins Pikes Peak
June 15, 2003
I told ya dat boy good! Dixon is the Kenseth of IRL. Never makes a lot of noise, but he is always there ready to take advantage of a situation and put himself in victory lane. And I don’t think there would have been a great deal of challenge from Kanaan even if the race finished under green.
And how about that great Scot Dario? A fourth place finish after sitting on his ass since early April isn’t bad!

Carpentier conquers Laguna Seca

Carpentier held off his team mate Paul Tracy as well as Bruno Junqueira to take a victory at Laguna Seca today. Sad to see that attempt at victory donuts. God I miss Zanardi.

Busch wins at Michigan
June 15, 2003
Man that “young gun” is good. Looks like Bobby Labonte is on fire again too. Speaking of Joe Gibbs racing, I think everyone needs to take note that BOTH the Gibbs teams are suddenly alive the past few weeks. Kenseth should be afraid. Very afraid. There is a long way to go yet.

Stoddart’s Minardi noise - Bernie invests
June 15, 2003
I think every race series needs great teams, up and comers, and back markers. I don’t want to see an old standby like Minardi go the way of Tyrell. However, I am a capitalist and I have to agree with Ron Dennis’ comments at the recent press conference regarding the F1 “Fighting Fund.” Why should the top teams be made to pay for the inadequacy of the back markers? What’s next? Is the DOJ going to rule Ferrari a “monopoly?” ;)
However, there is nothing to worry about since Bernie Ecclestone has stepped in and saved the day by throwing $4 million of his own money at Stoddart’s struggling team. It sounds to me like some pocket change from a very weathly man who was sick of listening to Paul bitch about his problems.
But of course, Frank is not concerned.
