NASCAR Sexual Harassment Suit Gets Even Uglier
August 7, 2008
If you’re one of those people who just wants to read about the drivers, the cars, and the next race, this is your warning. I’ll have some of that writing later, but until then, this post will probably have you shaking your head and going, “what do they always have to write about that stuff for?” Well, it’s because it might turn out to be important, that’s why. Double Clutchin’-The Good, The Bad, And The Michael Waltrip From Pocono
August 4, 2008
Gotta love a good cheap shot whenever you can get one in, don’t you?
Anyways, at least we had a race that ended up going the full, allotted number of laps, that did not end under a caution or green-white checkered, and had only one competition caution as opposed to 1000. When those things are taken into consideration, one can look at Pocono as being a successful race. Read more
Still dumbfounded - but random thoughts come anyway
July 30, 2008
I’ll admit it, I’m still a little in shock from the race from Indy this Sunday…if you can call that 400 mile parade a race, that is. I debated even posting anything this week, I was so miffed at that debacle. I decided that like all good bloggers, I had the responsibility to join the millions of detractors and badmouth NASCAR in a public forum…ahh, this is what I love about blogging.
On to the thoughts after the “Allstate 400, Brought to You by the Color Yellow”: Read more
Double Clutchin’-The Ugly From The Brickyard
July 28, 2008
Sorry that this article was late. I blew two tires out while trying to get to a computer.
I’ll be at the Comedy Barn all week. This race gave me a million jokes, every one of them as bad as that one, and none of which are as bad as the Brickyard 400 turned out to be on Sunday. Good God, that was an abomination of a race yesterday. Probably the best quote that I’ve heard about the race was from Dr. Jerry Punch. Dr. Punch is on 990 am in Knoxville every week and he is always a good guest on the John and Jimmy show, and today he shared a couple of thoughts about how hard it was to do commentary for that race, and just how terrible the race was to watch. I had to laugh with this quote: Read more
This Kyle Busch Stuff Is Getting Out Of Hand
July 26, 2008
197 out of 200 laps.
You read that right. Kyle Busch led the Kroger 200 for 197 out of its 200 laps. If he were a baseball player someone would have hit him with a pitch by now. Right in the melon. That was his sixth Nationwide victory and Toyota’s 15th in 22 Nationwide races.
Guess impounding the Toyotas at Chicagoland and changing the rules in mid-stream isn’t showing results yet, huh? Read more
Truex To Stay With DEI
July 26, 2008
Well, the house that Dale built is going to have at least one driver next season.
In what I consider to be a mildly surprising move, Martin Truex, Jr. reportedly has agreed to a contract with DEI through 2010. From the four-letter network: Read more
Will Mark Martin Be Wasting His Time At Hendrick?
July 16, 2008
Follow me down memory lane for a second. Once upon a time, in a place of employment far, far away, I was blessed enough to work with a very sweet lady named Rae. When Rae wasn’t chain-smoking cigarettes and calling every one baby, you could occasionally get her to discuss NASCAR and Mark Martin. This was before Dale Earnhardt’s death, and it Read more
Double Clutchin’-The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly From Chi-Town
July 13, 2008
LifeLock’s not doing its job, because on Saturday night, NASCAR’s identity got stolen.
Kyle Busch continued his one-man campaign to make himself the face of NASCAR with another victory Saturday night; this time winning the Lifelock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. Whether you’re a Busch fan or you hate him like the flu, allow me to steal a quote from one of the greatest performers of all time, “whether you like it or whether you don’t, learn to love it, because it’s the best thing going today”. Random Ramblings from Chicago
July 13, 2008
After a few weeks off in which I took a much needed vacation, got to see some family, and attended the Cup race in New Hampshire, I’m ready to start back into a venting/rambling groove again. Would have been nice to write last week, but alas, my Comcast DVR decided that it didn’t want to record the race for me. But…that is a different story for a different time. On to the semi-conscious thought stream… Read more
