Portland - Trailing by 1.5 seconds with two laps left, Emanuele Pirro couldn’t believe it. He closed quickly on Dyson Racing’s No. 16 Lola, which lost fuel pressure while leading, to win the Portland Grand Prix on Saturday night in Round 6 of the American Le Mans Series.

Sonoma, Calif. - Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro won for the first time this year in their No. 2 Champion Racing Audi R8, taking the Infineon Technologies Grand Prix of Sonoma presented by Ravenswood Winery on Sunday at Infineon Raceway. Johnny O’Connell and Ron Fellows did a little celebrating of their own as well, as they stood on top of the GT1 podium at Infineon for the fifth straight time.
Lehto, Werner Return To Winning Ways In New England Grand Prix

Lakeville, Conn. - JJ Lehto and Marco Werner returned to the top step of the podium in the American Le Mans Series on Monday, winning the New England Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park for their third victory in four races this season. Their No. 1 Champion Racing Audi R8 survived a packed track to win at Lime Rock for the second year in a row.

It was a story book finish for Randy Ruhlman and Derhaag Motorsports as they went from the back of the field to take the victory. It was Ruhlman’s second of the year and second of his career in Trans-Am. After 3 events Ruhlman has won 2 and finished 3rd at Portland giving him command of the points.
Rocketsports Racing Dominates Qualifying, Again

It should come as no surprise but Rocketsports Racing has once again proven to be the fastest team in Trans-Am. Today as the teams took to Cleveland’s temporary road course at the Burke Lakefront Airport, rookie sensation Klaus Graf, lead the Rocketsport pack to his second consecutive pole in as many races. He was followed closely by team owner/driver Paul Gentilozzi and fellow team mate Tomy Drissi. Of course Rocketsports Racing has set the bench mark for many years in Trans-Am and why shouldn’t they be the fastest?

Ha ha, just kidding, but it got your attention didn’t it? Seriously now lets talk about some racing going on this weekend in Cleveland. That’s right it’s once again time for the Grand Prix of Cleveland in which various SCCA pro series will be participating in support of the Champ Series race to take place Sunday. Now before I talk about the racing I would like to take a minute to talk about Cleveland, a sentimental favorite of mine.
