Are Happy Days Here Again?

Written by Scott Keller · February 9, 2005

The Champ Car World Series released details about their 2005 television schedule. It’s good……no, not good….really good.

All but one race in the western hemisphere are going to be shown live, and the first six races of the season are featured on CBS and NBC. The only downside to this schedule is that the season finale` is scheduled for SPEED Channel and not the major broadcast networks. I can’t complain. I just love the fact that good old Milwaukee is going to be on CBS this year. I am so happy to see that Champ Car decided to stick with a place with such a rich oval racing history. I hope that Champ Car will add another short oval for next year, as well.

The return of Champ Car to CBS, SPEED Channel, and NBC is an amazing feat for a series doomed for extinction only two years ago.

It’s good news if you don’t have a TOTALLY LAME CBS affiliate that will preempt the last 3 laps - for golf.

There’s something to be said for tape delay when you’re playing with the big broadcasters.

We can only hope that it’s handled respectfully - thanks for coming back Speed.

Definitely gotta give props to Speed for coming back, too.

Let’s hope CBS doesn’t dis’ the racing fans with antics like that this year!

Got something to say?
