Written by Josh Katinger · May 13, 2006

Sebastien won the second race of the 2006 CCWS season, following up his runaway victory in Long Beach. Houston was a bit more dramatic with a late race yellow bunching Paul Tracy right up behind Seabass for the final green flag lap

Seabass of held off Tracy handily to take the 1.238 second win, but not without controversy and harsh words from Tracy after the race. Tracy was hot over some blocking for which Bourdais was being “watched” but no penalty was given.

“That’s definitely a penalty and you’re not suppose to get away with blocking”. Tracy said in the post race interview. “But, I guess when you are Sebastien Bourdais you can get away with it.”

Pole sitter Mario Dominquez was dejected after throwing away his chanced at victory when he locked up his brakes and went into the run off area dropping him from the lead to third, where he ultimatley finished behind his teammate Tracy.

Anyone agree with Paul’s analysis that that you get to block if you’re Bourdais?

Congrats to Sebastian and his new wife!

And I don’t know if anyone else picked this up (I haven’t checked out the news postings like I should) but the coverage in Houston indicated that Paul had signed a 5 year deal with Forsythe.

Got something to say?
