Petition To Keep Champ Car At Long Beach
Written by Josh Katinger · April 18, 2005
Victor Varela and the “CCWS · Champ Car World Series - for TRUE fans! @ Yahoo! Groups” bunch have put together a petition aimed at the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach’s (GPALB) president and general manager, Jim Michaelian. The GPALB is the body that would make the decision to invite the IRL to run the GP of Long Beach next year instead of Champ Car.
PetitionOnline.com: Keep the Champ Cars racing at Long Beach!
A note from the petition creator:
Thanks to all the Champ Car fans who have signed our petition. Thanks also to the various online Champ Car websites and forums (and the recent Long Beach Press-Telegram article 4/15/05), which have been instrumental in getting the word out. The numbers are good, but can be better. E-mail, call and generally tell all your fellow Champ Car friends to sign our petition and pass on the word about it!Thanks again!Note: Jim Michaelian is the president and CEO of the Long Beach Grand Prix Association, which is owned by Dover Motorsports.
Would this petition make any difference in the decision to bring the IRL to Long Beach next year or Champ Car? Probably not. Money talks. But it sure is fun to petition things. Champ Car fans…do your part.
