Written by Josh Katinger · September 19, 2005
Dabbling in some rally co-driving myself here in the US, it chills me double to report that Markko Martin’s co-driver Michael Park was killed on Sunday in the WRC Wales Rally GB. Works Peugeot Rally driver Martin was not injured in the crash.

It is with deep reget that the organisers of Wales Rally GB confirm that Michael Park (39) of Newent, Gloucestershire, UK, co-driver in car number 8 has been fatally injured following an accident in Special Stage 15, Margam.
In light of the tragedy, points leader Sebastien Loeb took an intentional time penalty, handing the win to Petter Solberg.
“The rally should have been stopped completely,” said Loeb. “Marcus (Gronholm) didn’t hesitate to do the right thing (by withdrawing). At this point it really doesn’t matter who won the rally.”
Park leaves a wife, Marie, and two children, William and Victoria.
Rest in peace “Beef.”

R.I.P “Beef”
condolences to his family & team.
I fear that, perhaps the WRC cars are getting to that scary era of the Group B’s in the early 80’s.
Peace Be The Journey…
My Prayers are with your family… He will always be a part of all of you…
Much Love…
This is so sad. RIP Beef.
