Evil Genius Or True Friend?

Written by George Katinger · June 7, 2007

Once again my favorite team owner is causing controversy, at least in my feverish little brain. What’s Ron Dennis done to stir me up?

Protested Ferrari’s latest technical innovation? No. Taken verbal jabs at Flavio Briatore? Wrong. Challenged Max Mosley to a duel at 10 paces with impact wrenches? Nope again. He’s actually expressed sympathy for Kimi Raikkonen’s poor performance this year. And that makes him a candidate for Machiavellian status?

You betcha! To my interpretation Ron is twisting poor Kimi’s tail, but he’s couched it in such a gratuitous manner with references to the “family of former F1 drivers”, it’s positively brilliant!

Let me put it into a different perspective. If Kimi were on top of the driver’s championship point tally and helping lead Ferrari to another constructor’s title as well, would Ron be so considerate? I don’t think so. He’s kicking at poor Kimi’s fragile (at least I think it’s fragile) mental state and covering it under the guise of “friendship”.

Evil genius at it’s finest!

I’m convinced that Kimi is mentally too tough to be out-psyched. So if Ron wants to try I will watch with great interest.

My feeling is that this will fall off kimi like water off a ducks back.

True peter, especially since water and alcohol don’t mix very well, unless it’s for internal applications!

Drink a bottle of this and see me in the morning. Thank you, Dr. George!
