Ralf In A Toyota For ‘05

Written by George Katinger · March 31, 2004

Confirmed reports from inside information, or just another rumor? After the “Renault is sure to sign Ralf” fiasco Willi Weber foisted on everyone, I would suspect this is more than just a rumor. Sorry Panis, looks like you’d be the one to go. Sorry DaMatta, looks like you’re saddled with Ralf. One benefit, the cockpits will be enlarged just to accommodate Ralf and his ego!

Any bets on whether Ralf puts either Toyota off the track this weekend? I’d give even money on it.

But Toyota are also looking at Scott Dixon! I bet he’d drive the pants off Ralfie if he got so quick at the first day of testing with Williams.

Great! Unless Toyota develop their car greatly we get to hear Ralf piss and moan about how bad the car is. At least he is making $110 over the 5 years. He must have got some advice from Villeneuve.

If Dixon has any road racing talent he will wind up at Williams. Franks fomula; new talented driver + entry level salary = great deal for Frank, ala JV, Damon Hill, Montoya, etc.

The Ferrari domination of F1 makes the prima donna drivers popping off at each other and at their bosses much more entertaining than the races themselves.

Given this state of F1, I’m surprised Paul Tracy hasn’t been offered a test. He certainly has the mouth to be an F1 star.

Tracy did have an F1 test with Benetton back in the mid 90s, but nothing ever came from it.

Got something to say?
