Red Bull Taking Over Minardi?
Written by Peter Gillespie · September 6, 2005
While this is probably more speculation than fact, it does say something about Red Bull & their attitude to grooming new drivers.
ITV-F1.com: RED BULL SET TO TAKE OVER MINARDI
Minardi has been about the only port of call for talented drivers without a substantial budget over the last 10 years. Alonso, Fischicella, Trulli & Weber all cut their teeth there, the importance of these small private teams is often overlooked. Tyrell was the other great stepping stone for hot shoes & that team is long gone.
If this takeover turns out to be true it could be the best news F1 has had in a long time. Paul Stoddart has found it to be nearly impossible to be even remotely competitive with his limited budget. That’s not a criticism of him, just a recognition of the reality of being a privateer in F1 2005. I hope this deal comes off.

I first posted a story on this 4-5 days ago. I tend to place it in the “when pigs fly” category but one never can be sure with F1.
I guess Eddie Irvine is still sniffing around Minardi also looking to pick up the scraps.
I bet Bernie and Max are having wet dreams with the possibility of not having Stoddart around.
I got all excited about the prospect of Dubai F1,the Mclaren B team, that was supposed to be launched in 2006.It seems to have disappeared,I have not heard anything about it since.
In regard to Minardi, I would not be at all surprised if Flavio Briatore puts together a consortium, of other peoples money, after he retires from Renault in the next season or two.
Based on this report in the UK’s Independent (http://sport.independent.co.uk/motor_racing/article310648.ece)
The Minardi/Red Bull deal is done and will be annouced at Spa this weekend.
I’m with you marc on the “pigs may fly” in F1 & believe it when you see it, but it certainly sounds plausible.Red Bull will be able to do more with it than any of Minardi’s previous owners
