Schumacher Dominance Continues

Written by George Katinger · March 21, 2004

Team Ferrari and the faultless Michael Schumacher continue to thumb their collective nose at the rest of the field, with a dominating win in Malaysia. Juan Pablo Montoya re-kindles hope for a “racing” season by closing to within 2 seconds of the leader, until he runs into Rubens Barrichello. Rubens immediately slows his pace by 2 seconds a lap allowing Der Meister to cushion his lead.

The continuing climb of BAR Honda out of the ranks of mediocrity also lends hope for future pressure on the Big Red Machine. Button’s podium finish is a huge mental break through for Jenson (his first) and the team, learning that they finally have the combination of car and driver to finish well and posssibly win a race or two.

In spite of Michaels’ and his cars seemingly effortless romp to another win, all fans can take a smidgeon of hope to the next race for a winner other then a Ferrari.

Good article. Poor Barrichelo, not only he has to develop new parts, tire testing and other stuff for MS, he also has to block potential challengers.
